If Not For Me
One day, Jim and Cecil was driving pass an auto mechanic workshop and Jim told her, “Dear that is Dereck, your former boyfriend. He ended up a mechanic. You would have been a mechanic’s wife. Cecil smiled as she responded had I married Dereck, he would have been a millionaire like you are today. The answer caught Jim thinking and he realized that Cecil was more or less right. He would have hardly achieved much if not for the support of his dear wife Cecil.
They met 25 years ago while in high school. Then Cecil was going out with Dereck who hardly had much respect for her. One morning Jennifer, her friend and classmate whispered to her that Dereck went telling people that he got her into bed two days earlier. It was the talk of the whole school and everyone jeered at her while she passed except Jim who she once turned down. She broke up with Dereck who was hardly interested in her any more.
This paved way for Jim and they got married after high school. She is everything Jim wanted in a woman. “What a lucky man I am”, he would always tells himself. She is respectful, kind, hospital, submissive and tolerant. She shows Jim so much understanding even in issues Jim thought would be difficult to explain to her. She was a strong motivation force for him. Severally, she has saved Jim from situations that can make a man end up with depression or hypertension and stroke.
Her secret as she once told Jim was that after her failed relationship with Dereck while in high school, she decided to make herself a woman every man would adore. So she started working on developing a set of character traits that would make her the envy of every man, Today, she is glad she achieved that. She is glad that her husband can boast of her and seek opportunities to commend her wherever he goes.
Jim has told her severally that he is afraid that he might not be able to bear losing her. In fact he once prayed they should die together, because she is too precious and good to be lost.
